R.I.P. Pak

Before we get too far…

  • Yes, it’s wednesday, and I normally update on Fridays.
  • No, I had no plans in advance to write this.
  • Yes, I’m counting it as this week’s article. I’ll have to figure out which of the articles I had planned for the Halloween batch to save for next year as a result, but by god, I need to get this out of my system.
  • Yes, I realize wrestling articles don’t do nearly as well as anything else on here.
  • Yes, I’m doing it anyway. The theme of this website has always been talking about whatever thing I’m currently obsessed with, and this, in a sad, heartbroken way, counts, so we’re doing this.

“So what happened that’s so Earth shattering that you had to break form and schedule to do it?” ome back on

The Bastard time will never forget. Unlike that scatterbrain, Gravity.

This is Benjamin Satterly. Known to WWE fans as Neville: King of the Cruiserweights, to AEW as “The… BASTARD!” Pak, and throughout the indies as “The Man Gravity Forgot.” This past Sunday, 9/27/26, he passed away at the age of 40.

As of this writing, nobody really knows what happened. His body was found slumped over in his car, either at a restaurant or at a gas station, depending on your source. Foul play has been ruled out… Though admittedly, that doesn’t really narrow it down.

Whether he was Pak, or Neville, or “The Man Gravity Forgot” over in Dragongate, I loved this guy’s work. The red arrow, or black arrow, or whatever you want to call it, was a thing of beauty whenever he performed it, and he was probably the only guy on Earth who could pull it off. His run with Death Triangle was one of the few times I genuinely liked trios wrestling.

Yes, it’s true he was a member of The Deathriders: a faction who’s probably thanking god for The Don Callis Family for eclipsing the amount of go-home-heat they were generating at one point… But I don’t hold it against him. In fact, Pak was probably the only Deathrider I actually LIKED.

It’s both astonishing and devastating to think that the dude was perfectly fine one minute, and was literally found dead the next. As of this writing, There didn’t appear to be anything wrong with him. Hell, the man was only forty! FORTY! Dude, I’M forty, and I’m in nowhere NEAR as in shape as Pak!

It just goes to show you, man: one minute, you’re here, and the next minute, you’re gone. And let’s face it, September has been a rough month. Pak died, Andy “The Butcher” Williams died, Dolly Partin died, Donald Trump is still alive… It’s the kind of month that makes a guy question the existence of god, you know?

At the time I’m writing this, AEW just wrapped up their tribute show to Pak. I’ve only ever cried one other time after a show like this, and that was when Owen Hart passed away after that harness malfunction here in KC. That video package they played at the very end, in particular… I just can’t put words together at that point. I never even met the guy, and I practically cried my eyes out.

The world isn’t going to be the same without that bastard in it. R.I.P. Ben Satterly.
